Black River Athletics Scholarship / Financial Aid Policy

Black River Athletics is committed to providing opportunities for dedicated and talented players to participate in our competitive soccer programs. Our scholarship/financial aid program is designed to assist families with financial need, ensuring that players can compete at the highest level without financial barriers.

Scholarships and financial aid packages are awarded at the discretion of the club based on financial need, player commitment, and/or team impact. These awards are not refunds, discounts, or entitlements, but rather a financial aid opportunity that carries specific obligations for both players and their families.

Scholarship Terms & Conditions

1. Financial Award & Allocation

  • Scholarship funds are limited and awarded annually based on available financial aid resources.

  • When a player accepts a scholarship, those funds are allocated to their participation, meaning another deserving player may be turned away due to funding limitations.

2. Player Commitment & Card Retention

  • Players who accept a scholarship are committing to remain with Black River Athletics for the full seasonal year (August 1 – July 31).

  • As part of this commitment, Black River Athletics will retain the player’s card for the entire season.

  • Player cards will not be released mid-season unless the scholarship amount is fully reimbursed to the club.

3. Reimbursement & Early Release Policy

  • If a player wishes to transfer to another club before the end of the seasonal year, the family must reimburse the full scholarship amount before Black River Athletics will release the player card.

  • Reimbursement ensures that the club can reallocate financial aid funds appropriately and maintain fairness for all scholarship applicants.

4. Expectations for Scholarship Recipients

  • Commitment to Training & Games: Players awarded scholarships are expected to maintain full attendance at training sessions, games, and club events.

  • Exemplary Conduct: Players and families must uphold the values of Black River Athletics, demonstrating sportsmanship, respect, and commitment.

  • Parental Cooperation: Families receiving scholarships must support the club’s policies, mission, and financial aid structure.

5. Scholarship Forfeiture

Scholarship funds may be revoked if:

  • A player fails to meet attendance, conduct, or commitment expectations.

  • A family refuses to comply with the terms outlined in this policy.

  • A player seeks to leave the club before the completion of the seasonal year without reimbursing the awarded scholarship.

  • A player and/or family member breaks Code of Conduct Policy

No Refund Policy

By completing registration, submitting payment, or accepting a roster spot with Black River Athletics, or any Black River Athletics sponsored programming,  you agree to the following strict No Refund Policy:

1. All payments are final and non-refundable.

All tuition, fees, deposits, monthly installments, tournament fees, league fees, uniform fees, and administrative charges are 100% non-refundable, non-transferable, and not eligible for chargeback under any circumstances.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Player withdrawal for any reason (including changing clubs)

  • Dissatisfaction with playing time, coach decisions, team placement, or schedule

  • Injury, illness, or personal conflict

  • Family decisions, travel conflicts, or relocating

  • Misunderstanding of subscription billing

  • Failure to participate in practices, games, or events

  • Weather cancellations or reschedules

  • Any situation where programming continues to be offered by the club

2. Acceptance of a roster spot equals a binding financial commitment for the full season.

Black River Athletics operates on an annual budget based on rostered players.
Once you accept a roster spot, you are financially responsible for the entire season, regardless of participation.

3. Payment plans are not subscriptions that can be “canceled.”

Payment plans are installments toward a full-season tuition, not monthly memberships.
Canceling your card, disputing bank drafts, or stopping payment does not cancel your financial obligation.

4. The only exception (credit only—never a refund).

The club may issue a future program credit, not a refund, only in one of the following rare circumstances and decisions for such events will be made on a case by case basis by administration.

Credits:

  • Must be requested within 30 days of incident

  • Are not guaranteed

  • Expire after 12 months

  • Cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash

5. Agreement to Terms

By clicking “Register,” submitting payment, accepting a roster spot, or participating in any Black River Athletics program, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this No Refund Policy and understand that it is enforceable in all billing, legal, and chargeback proceedings.
